One place to look is windows updates.
Get to Settings > Windows Update > Update history. Confirm if whatsoever updates were installed on that appointment.
On the WIndows update page click on Advanced Options then Choose how updates are delivered.
On the "Chose how updates are delivered" page if the showtime option is turned on, the MS is using your computer as a "mule" to deliver updates to other people. That would account for network use.
Too check in the Recycle bin, if someone was using your organization and they were sloppy, in that location could be deleted files in that location ("sloppy" because there is an option to delete files without putting them in the recycle bin).

If install the TCPIPView utility, will I be able to view what was downloaded on eleven/16/2017 during a specific time menstruum? Something downloaded that used 15 GB, however, I cannot discover it. I do know that information technology occurred on 11/16/2017 between 5:thirty PM and 6:30 PM.
Is the TCPIPView utility rubber to download?

I went to the Windows Update History, in that location were no updates for eleven/16/2017.
I do not come across the "Advanced Options" on the Windows Update History page. Is in that location some other method to get to the Advanced Options?
Is there a method to view what was downloaded on 11/16/2017 during a specific fourth dimension period? Something downloaded that used 15 GB, still, I cannot find it. I exercise know that it occurred on 11/16/2017 between 5:thirty PM and 6:30 PM.

Hi, Paul, TCPIPView is safe, I would not put you wrong . . .
Actually TCPIPView is more for monitoring your network activity should this sort of thing happen over again . . .
Equally for what was downloaded on eleven/16/2017 betwixt 5:30 PM and 6:thirty PM
In that location are two possible means to detect that out:
i.
Open Windows File Explorer and double click on your C Drive in 'This PC'
Click in the Search Box
The Search Ribbon should go active
Click Engagement Modified drib down and choose Today
Then click the blue text in the search box, a calendar will appear
Select the 16th and give it fourth dimension to search - it can be a while
In the resulting search, you should exist able to encounter what downloaded . . .

Click your Get-go Button, type Event Viewer and hit Enter

I will try both methods and get dorsum to you lot with my results. I will also endeavor the TCPIPView utility. Is the utility TCPView or TCPIPView? Lamentable for all the questions, I see TCPView has great reviews.
I cannot limited my business, as I had my identity stolen 4 times and caused enormous issues.

Sad, misdirected you. the Advanced Options is on the "Update Status" page
Sorry, I do not know of any style of identifying what was up or downloaded during a specific time. At that place are many utilities that tin monitor you cyberspace use. The trouble is that most of them focus on total volume and speed. Very few provide any ID for the file or program that is doing the up/down loading.

Hi Dave,
I used the outcome viewer to view my PC activity for 11/16/2017 between v:00 PM and 6:xxx PM. I encounter several warning messages and error messages. It appears something was trying to download and install some apps or security files, I'm not sure.
Could I e-mail you a couple of screen shots of the event viewer and go your feedback? I really practise not understand what was occurring on eleven/xvi/2017, but it did final for about 2 hours and looks a fleck suspicious to me. I do not run into a way to adhere screen shots on this community web site, perhaps I can answer back with the text?

Can you do i thing for me:
Click your Beginning Button, blazon winver and hit Enter
In the resulting dialog, take a notation of what version No. of Windows 10 you lot are running (1709, 1703, 1607 . . . etc.)
Due to the amount of data that has been downloaded, I am guess it was the Fall Creators Update that was downloading. If you are not running 1709, then that is the near likely scenario . . .
Of you want to mail service screenshots you can practice that hither or upload them to the cloud (DropBox,OneDrive . . .etc.) and post a link here and I will have a await for y'all . . .
